First Exhibition of Rescued Works by Contemporary Uzbek Artists

This exhibition served as the starting point for the founding of the San’at Association—Forum for Art, Culture, and Science. On display were rescued works by contemporary Uzbek artists that had gone missing in Europe during the pandemic and were located and preserved by art historian and curator Zukhra Rakhmatova after a search lasting several weeks.

The presentation at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Berlin symbolized the “return of art to its homeland” and marked the association’s public launch. As part of the conference, not only was the exhibition opened, but the founding of San’at was also officially announced.

As a cultural bridge between Germany and Uzbekistan, San’at played an active role in shaping the evening’s program. In cooperation with the Primo Piano Music School, a musical segment was incorporated into the official program, featuring selected classical compositions. The artistic program enriched the conference and created a vibrant space for intercultural exchange among female entrepreneurs, cultural professionals, and guests from both countries. The event powerfully demonstrated how art brings people together and fosters dialogue.
