Internship in Cultural & Project Management / Communications (m/f/d)
Berlin | Start by arrangement | Internship
Would you like to gain hands-on experience in cultural and project management, take responsibility, and contribute your own ideas to real projects?
Are you interested in Uzbekistan, its culture, and cultural exchange between Uzbekistan and Germany?
Then join San’at – Forum for Art, Culture and Science e.V. and work with us on international cultural projects in Berlin.
About us
San’at Forum e.V. is a non-profit association based in Berlin. Our aim is to build bridges between Uzbekistan and Germany and bring people together through art, culture, education, and personal exchange.
We organize exhibitions, cultural events, educational projects, and international exchange formats. In doing so, we collaborate with artists, cultural institutions, educational organizations, and other partners in Germany and Uzbekistan.
As an intern, you will contribute directly to these projects and learn how international cultural work is developed and implemented in practice.
What you will do
You will become actively involved in our ongoing projects and, depending on your interests and experience, take responsibility for your own tasks.
Your activities may include:
- helping to plan and organize cultural events, exhibitions, and international projects
- supporting the preparation and delivery of events in Berlin
- communicating with artists, partner organizations, and other stakeholders
- developing content for our website, social media, and public relations activities
- creating articles, texts, presentations, and project materials
- researching cultural projects, potential partners, and funding opportunities
- contributing to our German- and English-language communications
- developing your own ideas for new formats and projects and helping to put them into practice
You will gain experience across different areas of cultural and non-profit work and gradually have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility.
What you can learn
This internship is designed not only to provide insight, but to give you practical experience.
You will learn, among other things:
- how a cultural project develops from an initial idea into a concrete activity
- how events and international collaborations are planned and organized
- how to work with artists, institutions, and partners from different cultural backgrounds
- how communications and public relations work for a cultural non-profit organization
- how projects are structured, coordinated, and implemented in practice
- how intercultural cooperation between Germany and Uzbekistan works in everyday project settings
Who we are looking for
You may be studying cultural management, communications, media, event management, international relations, social sciences, humanities, art, design, or a related subject.
Your specific field of study is less important to us than your motivation.
You should:
- have a genuine interest in Uzbekistan, its culture, and cultural exchange with Germany
- enjoy connecting people and cultures
- work independently, reliably, and in a structured way
- enjoy organizing and communicating
- be willing to contribute ideas and take initiative
- have very good German and good English skills
- be comfortable working with common digital tools
Knowledge of Uzbek or Russian, as well as experience with social media, WordPress, graphic design, photography, or event organization, is very welcome but not required.
What you can expect at San’at
San’at is a small organization with short decision-making processes. This means that you can contribute directly and take on significantly more responsibility than in many traditional internships.
We offer you:
- active involvement instead of simply observing
- hands-on experience with real cultural projects
- direct contact with artists and international partners
- insights into cultural management, project management, and communications
- room for your own ideas and initiative
- opportunities to independently take responsibility for smaller tasks and projects
- an international and intercultural working environment
- flexible collaboration in Berlin and, depending on the task, partly remote
Our goal is that, by the end of your internship, you can say not only that you were present at cultural projects, but that you actively contributed to their development and implementation.
