The San’at Forum team is pleased to have represented Uzbekistan at the “We are Berlin” family event, which took place at FEZ Berlin. The event generated a great deal of interest among Berliners and visitors to the city. We had the opportunity to showcase Uzbekistan’s rich culture, art, and traditions.
The program items included the following:
- Children’s Art Exhibition “The World Through Children’s Eyes.” As a follow-up to the exhibition held for International Children’s Day, the creative works of children from Uzbekistan and Berlin were presented to an even wider audience.
- Creative Workshop: “The Colorful Treasures of Uzbekistan.” As part of a program developed by the founder of the San’at Forum, the children learned about the shapes and meanings of traditional Uzbek ornaments and created their own designs.
- Flower Wreath Workshop. One of our organization’s most popular highlights—participants worked alongside a master artisan to create their own flower wreaths, which they took home as souvenirs.
- Reading Corner. A cozy reading corner was set up for visitors. In addition, a presentation of the bilingual German-Uzbek book by Uzbek author Sitora Usmonova took place there, along with a reading by the author.
- Children’s cooking class on how to make somsa. We went through the entire process together with the children—from kneading the dough to baking and tasting the results together.
- As part of a dance program we organized, Uzbek children living in Berlin performed traditional Uzbek dances.
